Pear Deck

Pear Deck is a great interactive website where I can create my presentation using google slides and assess my students face to face or online. My experience was rich and enjoyable. I am sure that it will help me as a teacher to give presentations in an organized and engaging way. In addition, it will enable me to evaluate all my students and provide immediate assistance to them. On the other side, my students will be able to join the presentations by using their devices. They will participate and interact with enthusiasm. They will answer questions independently. It will allow each student to enter the class code, join it, and participate on a separate page.

When I created my pear deck account, I found many templates in the library. Specialists designed these templates to be flexible and classified them into three categories for the beginning, middle, and end of the lesson. In addition, I used some of the other categories. I managed to modify some texts and add others to be appropriate with my lesson was teaching vocabulary - Prefixes and suffixes for second grade. I felt excited when I added many different ways the students would answer the questions, which are interactive, attractive, diverse. In some of the questions, students will answer by typing a text. They will have a page to build their vocabulary using prefixes and suffixes. Multiple choice is another method that the students will use for response. Students at this age like to draw, so they will draw in two activities: In the first activity, students will draw lines to match correct prefixes and suffixes with appropriate words. In the second activity, students will circle the word that has the wrong prefix or suffix. In addition to other activities in which the student’s answer will be either agree or disagree, determine if the answer is true or false by dragging. Another feature I got from the pear deck was that I was able to take advantage of templates and put a stretch break for the students. I used the side tool (www). I added to the students a song if you are happy clap your hands. I also added two pages to ask the students how they felt during and at the end of the lesson to see if someone needed help.
