Mobile Learning

Technology exists to make the world easier and closer. Technology advances continuously, so we get its benefits continuously. As a teacher, mother, and student at the same time, I have a lot of responsibilities. I rely a lot on my mobile and iPad on the percentage of 98%. I use them anytime and anywhere. In addition, they save me time. From my experience as a student, I downloaded the Canvas Application on my computer, iPad, and iPhone. I did many of my assignments and watched the lectures while waiting for the appointments or my daughter's bus. One of the things that are happening to me currently is that eating breakfast in Ramadan* comes in the middle of the time of my lectures. With the flexibility of online lessons, using my iPad, I attend my lessons, have breakfast, and share my information. Therefore, it is great to have applications that can be downloaded on my iPad and mobile and enable me to do my work as a teacher.

By browsing the list of applications, I chose the ShowMe application. It is a personal interactive whiteboard. Teachers can create flipped classrooms lessons and share them with anyone in the world or privately. There is a space for students' work to be shared, evaluated, and feedback added. It is also flexible to allow image import, pause and erase, documents, videos creation, audio recording, and student account creation. It is also easy to use, even for the youngest students, so that allows work independently. ShowMe application is beneficial for students. They can create their own presentations and posts and show their creativity. They can also save their work and display it to the audience. In addition, students can engage in learning individually and in groups. The video How to use the app Show Me in the classroom shows that it contains many features. Because of all these features, I liked this application. I also give it a score of 4 because I found that it fulfills all the educational app evaluation rubric.

Explain Everything is the second application I chose. Through research, I found that it is a digital whiteboard. Teachers create and display their lessons in the classroom or online. They upload lessons and assignments using Google Classroom, Canvas, and Blackboard. Using Google Classroom with Explain Everything Whiteboard Video gives more information about that. Explain Everything is flexible to allow teachers to digitize, save, store, and share learning materials. In addition, allowing for interactive presentations and conferencing with others using Zoom and Microsoft. Explain Everything application provides the ability to use images, videos, and documents in many formats such as PDF and MP4. It is interactive, so teachers provide opportunities for students to participate in learning, engage in discussion and brainstorming, give students feedback, and share their work with others. In addition, students can record and share their photos, videos, and works. The application also allows them to interact in real-time. Therefor, this feature allows teachers to know students who are struggling and help them at the same time. Explain Everything ensures independent learning for students because it is easy to use. It also preserves students' data and works. Because one of its principles is cooperation, it encourages group work. Finally, Explain Everything Application was the “winner of the App Store Best of 2020: Leading the Classroom.” Because Explain Everything met all the Educational App Evaluation Rubric, I gave him the mark 4.
