SMART Notebook
Creating interactive activities by
myself was a great experience. I chose SMART
Notebook to design three interactive activities for the reading
standard of second grade, which is expanding vocabulary by using prefixes and
suffixes. I chose the magic tube as the first activity. Students will build the
words through the formula and in a fun way. In the second activity, they will
learn that prefixes and suffixes have meanings. I made this activity more
interesting by using one of the encouragement tools, which is clapping. In the
third activity, students will categorize the words in a way that is like the
graphic organizer. I added timing to make it exciting. When designing the
activities, I followed the instructions in the video accompanying this
assignment. Therefore, I also put instructions for students to follow in all
activities. I made sure to lock everything in the activities so that the
students could perform them easily and without problems.
I
will use these activities for assessments at the beginning, middle, and end of
the lesson. I designed the activities to be fully appropriate to the learning
standard and students' educational level. I added some tools to make them
interactive with the addition of movement and sound. I also chose the colors
carefully to be comfortable to the eye. I believe in the importance of
incorporating the SMART Notebook into my classroom because of its many
features. These interactive activities grab the attention of the students. In
addition, it will enable them to practice learning with their senses because it
is an auditory, visual, tactile, and kinesthetic educational tool.
